History
EMS Group is a family-run company located in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Robert Lacombe established EMS Group 1989 once he had identified the need of northwestern New Brunswick's households to count on electric motor sales, repair and rewinding services.
Milestones:
1989 - Edmundston Electric Motor Service Ltd. is established.
1993-94 - The company invests $ 250,000 to enlarge its facilities and acquire new specialized equipment.
1997 - The company is presented the “Company of the Year” Award by the Commission industrielle du Nord-Ouest inc. and the “President’s Award” by US Motors in recognition of sales excellence. The company would reap this award several times in the following years.
1998 - Edmundston Electric Motor Service Ltd is granted ISO 9002 certification.
2004 - New preventive maintenance and automation services introduced.
2006 - Appointed exclusive distributor and marketer of Karcher floor care products in the Maritimes.
Creation of a purchasing consortium, “Le Groupe FGLT” to import motors from China.
2008 - “Edmundston Electric Motor Service Ltd.” changes legal name to “Groupe EMS Group inc.” to refurbish the company’s image and promote its new services.
